About the department
The department of operative dentistry was established in 2005, at the beginning of the establishment of the College of Dentistry.
The clinical and theoretical educational program of this department aims to use scientific techniques in provision of simple dental fillings, root canal treatment and familiarizing the students with the materials used in operative dentistry. All of this to achieve one goal, which is saving the natural dentition of our patients being pain-free, functional and have the optimal natural appearance. This mediated by clinical training in the university clinics being supervised by specialized dentists.
Message and Insight of The Department
The Department aims for achieving the college message and insight via utilizing up-to-date scientific knowledge in provision of simple dental fillings, root canal treatment and the materials used in operative dentistry. The program teaches the undergraduate students minimally invasive dentistry aiming at preserving the denotation rather than extracting them.
Objectives of The Department
1. Training the undergraduate students to communicate with their patients in ethical way in order to provide dental treatments for saving the natural dentition of our patients being pain-free, functional and have the optimal natural appearance.
2. Provision of an excellent educational tool for undergraduate students through the usage of manikin laboratory to prepare them for the clinical setting.
